Exceptional duplex in a 14th century castle
Live a unique experience inside an amazing castle. Built in the 14th century and restored after the french revolution in a neo-gothic style, the Château de la Bretesche is classed has a historical monument since 1926. Inside a large tower of the castle (called « Tour du marquis »), I’m pleased to open my second home to guests who are sensitive to historic heritage and will take care of it.
The castle is located in a privileged environment : near the natural park of La Brière (the second largest forestry field in France), along a nice lake, a 18th hole Golf (considered as one of the most beautiful in France), a high level complex with gastronomic restaurant, Relais château and Spa.
You can walk all around the large field of La Bretesche, along the Golf, the century old forest, around the lake. You can also ride your bike for discovering those landscapes or going to the small city of Missillac ; you’ll find there different shops and restaurants. In addition, many kinds of hiking, biking and horse riding are possible in the Brière…
Lastly, you can easily reach famous and attractive place in 30 minutes (by car). The Golfe du Morbihan, composed of many islands, offers an uncredible natural diversity. Vannes, the biggest city around, is a typical medieval place with wonderfull monuments and shops. La baie de Pornichet-La Baule, the largest bay in Europe, offers you beaches, nautic sports and major tourist activities during spring and summer. Finally, the city of Nantes proposes many cultural activities, festival and visits all along the year.
The duplex
Inside the Castle, at the top of a large tower, the Duplex of 125m2, recently renovated, offers a panoramic view with to 5 medieval windows. You access the tower thanks to a circular staircase leading to the flat (with coats of arms of the Montaigu family).
From the appartment, you overhang most of the lake, the 9th hole of the Golf but also different parts of the castle (including the Petite Bretesche). Restorated in the respect of its history, the flat offers different spaces with noble materials : massive parquet, stone walls, exposed beams…
The contemporary decoration, colored and extensive, includes designer and confortable furniture. Some works of art (painting, sculpture) are also presented in the place. The convergence of noble art of living and modern touches can be found in the general esthetic, different objects or the selection of books and movies.
At the ground floor, spacious rooms to live offer a high level of comfort : fully equipped kitchen, office room, lounge opening on a library. At the floor, 2 cosy bedrooms allow to watch the old tower’s wooden framework. For each floor, bathroom and shower are available.

A PDF guide, in english, will be given to you when you arrive at the flat. Your different questions should find an answer in this document to make your journey as enjoyable as possible.
Concerning the co-ownership’s life, discretion and courtesy and highly recommanded. Respect of the place is also essential. Endly, smoking is absolutly banned in the flat and inside the castle.
