La Ferme du Blanchot

When you first set eyes on the Hotel La Ferme du Blanchot, the regional character strikes you immediately. The façades, with wood complementing stone, and solid oak ceilings set off by terracotta flooring and white-washed walls, are an eloquent reminder of where you are. The hotel is easy to find on the edge of the Brière regional nature reserve, where the marshlands extend as far as the eye can see. Tastefully decorated, each room is a successful blend of old and new. It's the same in the restaurant, where modern furniture complements the exposed beams, stone walls and ancient bread oven. "What the chef puts on the menu depends on what fresh produce we find in the market", explains Christian. "Each day there is a set starter and dessert, and then a choice of three fish dishes and three different meats, all prepared in a way that lets the true flavour shine through".
